Venus de milo, Greek

Venus de Milo is one of the most famous ancient Greek sculptures. The statue is believed to depict Aphrodite, who was the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She was discovered in 1820 on the island of Milo in the south-western CycladesI. So, the “Milo” part of her name comes from where she was found. I  thought the sculpture was created by Michelangelo, but It’s actually unknown who actually sculpted Venus de Milo, but they think it was created by Alexandros of Antioch.

This statue made of marble. It were sculpted separately. There are legs, bust, foot and left arm. Then fixed with vertical pegs, it's a technique in Greek. Her size is about 6 feet 8 inches tall, without its plinth.  A little larger than life size. I think it represent of goddess.

This sculpture use contrast between her smooth nude body and ruffled texture of the drapery that covering her legs. Her hips are wide but her breasts are small. She has elongated body and has spiral composition by twist her body from the hips to the shoulder in s-shape pose that make it different all sides of this statue. Have the detail on her hairstyle.
